Book Clubs
I just changed over my non-used blog "SOLC Book Club" to "Eileen Frances Pahl Somers" so I can start collecting stories and photos to share. This was the one and only blog entry for SOLC:
In 2006, Jodi Prip started a Ladies' Book Club at Spirit of Life Church in New Prague. We have had so much fun and fellowship (and a few heated discussions) over the past few years. As we continue to read more titles and expand our group, we sometimes forget a past title or author. This blog will be our one handy place to gather book thoughts. Feel free to comment! We welcome the interaction.
I just never did anything with it and I don't think the others were interested. I have a list of past titles on my regular reading blog. Onward and upward!

Conferences
It's only 4:45 and I'd really, really like to be done now. This is an interesting experiment. Doesn't work for me, but maybe I'm just too stubborn. Glad I talked to one mom who loves this style . . . Just over two hours left and I'm going stir-crazy.

Another Candy Bar Sign
Dear Paige,
You and Johnny sure are _Hot Tamales_! A little _Whatchamacallit_, 9 months, and the Guists will soon become the _3 Musketeers_. Get ready, though, for some _Shock Tarts_. You may _Skor_ an "easy baby," or a real _Crybaby_, or even a set of _Twix_! (We mean "twins" - ulp!) The lack of sleep may make you into _Airheads_, or it may make you feel like you took some _Numb Drops_. Rest assured, to the rest of us, you'll just seem like new parent _Nerds_. That's okay, you _Crazy Dips_. Those _Snickers_ you hear are just our way of saying that Momma Paige is worth _100 Grand_ and Johnny _Pop Rocks_. We hope you have _Mounds_ of fun raising you new little (non-_Heath_-en) child.

Candy Bar wedding shower sign
Another in my attempts to clear out papers:

The honeymoon may be full of "Sweet Escapes", but the "Symphony" won't last forever. Those "Carefree" early days will give way to the "Crunch" and "Snickers" of the reality of dealing with married life. When the little "Whatchamacallit" comes along, we'll just call you the "3 Musketeers". But don't worry! _____ (husband) will make the "100 Grand" and be the "Lifesavers" on "Payday". Best of Luck!

Birdwing Spa
In my quest to get rid of clutter, I've found it amazingly difficult to recycle a brochure for Birdwing Spa, located in Litchfield MN. My sister-in-law Delavon gave me a gift certificate for my birthday four or more years ago. I spent a day being pampered and I *loved* it! It made me wish to be able to afford to treat other women, especially those much more deserving than I, to such an experience.
My reluctance to recycle this (in light of the fact that I don't even know if the place still exists) seems to indicate that I want to keep this info handy. Certainly, I could google it (and if it exists still, check out the current prices), but I cherish the memory of being treated so well and relaxing so thoroughly. I was the only guest that day, so everything truly was catered to me personally.
Birdwing Spa, 21398 - 575th Avenue in Litchfield. 320-693-6064. Healthy and delicious food, nice trails and workout facilities, excellent spa treatments . . . ahhh.
